Our Wedding

Lauren and I met at our friends' Nick's and Molly’s wedding in Maine... but the setup began a month earlier in Boston at Nick’s surprise 30th. At that party everyone kept insisting I needed to meet Lauren at the wedding. At one point someone declared we’d either fall in love or kill each other. No pressure.Lauren and Molly had been fast friends from work and Nick and I were old college friends. Thanks to some well-meaning matchmaking (and an accidentally inclusive group chat), we finally crossed paths. I spent most of the first day avoiding her out of a mix of caution and what I’ll politely call strategic coolness. The next morning I texted to ask if she’d gone swimming at the dock yet... very smooth. Later that night Scott Heffner woke me up to drag me to the afterparty, and I’m forever grateful he did. We spent hours flirting and playing pool, swapped numbers, and agreed I’d “be in New York for work”... which, yes, was a convenient fiction so I could take her out on our first date.What drew me in (aside from the fact that she’s stunning) was how everyone kept describing Lauren: a total badass, fiercely loyal, and completely herself. I was equal parts intimidated and hooked.The early months were full of small, ridiculous rituals that made everything feel effortless. We still shout “FAT SHIIIBAAA!” whenever we see a chonky Shiba Inu, and we’ve racked up memories from trips to the Bahamas and Jackson Hole to St. Michael's and cozy country B&amp;Bs where Bananagrams and Rummy 500 become Olympic-level competition.The moment I knew I wanted to marry her came one ordinary afternoon on the National Mall. We spotted the ice rink at the sculpture garden, impulsively rented skates, and spent an hour giggling as she casually showed off her old figure-skating moves. It was that day I knew there was no one I’d rather do life’s impromptu adventures with.So here we are still laughing, still yelling about fat dogs, and still driving back and forth from Annapolis to New York as we plan our next chapter of life.We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

We want to celebrate with you the whole weekend and hope you'll join us at The Perry! This is the only hotel with a dedicated room block, so we encourage everyone to reserve your rooms quickly. To book, call the hotel (can't book online) and reserve under the Davis Kirby Wedding.

Airports

Car rentals are highly encouraged given the very limited availability of Ubers and taxi services in the area. 

TVC serves most major airlines (United, Delta, American, JetBlue, etc.) with many daily flights from Detroit Metro (DTW), Chicago (ORD), and some directs from New York and Boston. Petoskey is about a 1h20 min drive from the airport, along the shore of Lake Michigan. We encourage you to rent a car for convenience for the weekend. There are also shuttles, and there may be limited Ubers from TVC to surrounding areas, but there are NOT reliable Ubers or taxis once in Petoskey/Charlevoix.

Cherry Capital Airport (TVC)

Pellston is a smaller airport alternative to Cherry Capital Airport (TVC), offering ORD shuttles/connections via United and DTW shuttles/connections via Delta. Petoskey is about a 20 min drive from the airport. We encourage you to rent a car for convenience for the weekend. There are also shuttles, and there MAY be limited Ubers from TVC to surrounding areas, but there are NOT reliable Ubers or taxis once in Petoskey/Charlevoix.

Pellston Regional Airport (PLN)

If flights are limited or you love road trips, you can also travel into Detroit. From there, it is a 4 hour drive up to the venue.

The Perry is located in walkable downtown Petoskey offering local shopping, cafes, and restaurants. Some favorites include American Spoon (locally farmed fruit products), Symon's General Store (gourmet food and sandwich counter), Chandler's (restaurant and wine cellar), City Park Grill (historic pub), Julienne Tomatoes (casual breakfast and lunch), North Perk Coffee (cafe), Threads (women's clothing boutique).

Downtown Petoskey

Explore the lake and the beach less than 10 mins away from the Perry by car. If you are lucky enough to find a Petoskey stone, let us know so we can be supremely jealous and let you know how to polish it!

Check out the drive through the tunnel of trees overlooking Lake Michigan and all of its beauty.

26-mile bike path along Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. The path connects Charlevoix to Harbor Springs (Petoskey is in the middle). In Petoskey, Boyne &amp; Banhof will provide rentals.

The ceremony is located at bayfront park WEST. It is a 15 minute walk from the Perry Hotel or a 5 minute drive if you prefer. Leave the Hotel Perry and walk down Bay Street towards the Lake. At the bottom of the street you will see a Bayfront Park Sign pictured below follow this through the tunnel and down to Bay Front Park east. Once through the tunnel and down the stairs follow the sidewalk to the LEFT. This is Little Traverse Wheelway. Continue this all the way past the Museum and cross the street when you see Tennis Courts keep them on your right and continue down the path. Also Pictured Below! This path will lead you straight to Bayfront Park WEST and you will see the ceremony!

You'll see this sign at the bottom of Bay Street, follow it through the tunnel to the park!

As you follow Little Traverse Wheelway you will get to this cross walk and see tennis courts on the right, head straight across the cross walk towards the sign below and continue this path and you will see the ceremony sight shortly!
